Dedication Picture

Also known as a donor's portrait, usually found at the beginning of a manuscript depicting the handover of a work from the author (or also from the scribe or illuminator) to the donor or patron of the work. The handover of the work from the client to Christ, Mary, or a saint can also be referred to as a dedication image.
